2019-02-05 Budget MeetingBudget Meeting February 5, 2019 3:15 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, County Manager Erik Martin, Budget Services Manager Becky Butler, Chris Sweet, and Katie Strozyk. Recorder: Candace Hallom Becky discussed the DNR timber projection. Becky briefly discussed noxious weed assessment. She said that Arny Davis would like reimbursement from the weed assessment fund to be returned to the general fund. Becky gave an update on budget planning for 2019. Becky stated she is working with Wayne on getting the rates set. District Court requested increasing a casual to full time. The cost is an increase of $5000. The Commissioners would like district court to attempt to absorb the increase. Chris Sweet and Katie Strozyk entered the meeting at 3:25 pm SWWFair would like to put on a monster truck show and would like to increase the budget. Tamara is also working on budget request for water improvements and for feasibility. Chris discussed CPAA agreement with Naphcare. Katie explained the agreement with Cascade Alliance who is in charge of the Medicaid transformation dedication dollars. The LCSO was picked as project partners. This project is to help those with opioid use disorder. Naphcare would handle the nurse care monitoring. Chris said they are already working with Naphcare in the jail and this will help the individual after they are released. This is a way for the jail to get Medicaid funding while the inmate is in jail. The plan is for a Resolution to move forward for this on February 25, 2019. At 3:50 pm Becky Butler left the meeting. Chris and Katie left at 3:51 pm Erik discussed public health permit revenue. Health feels that they can roll back $50,000 from the 2019 budget. Danette would like to start the recruiting process. Commissioner Stamper said this is one thing we can do to help support economic development. The Commissioners agreed to allow Danette to start the recruiting process. Prior to hiring the position, questions on costs will need to come back to the board. Meeting adjourned at 3:57 p.m.
