2019-02-05 Prosecutor UpdatePA’s Update February 5, 2019 2:00 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, County Manager Erik Martin, Eric Eisenberg, Cullen Gatten, Sara Wibowo, Becky Butler, Archie Smith, Wayne Whiton Guests: Dr. Lindsey Pollock Recorder: Candace Hallom Eric Eisenberg stated David Fine will be returning on April 1, 2019. Eric also discussed the PA’s office needing to add a Civil DPA 1 or 2 depending on experience for the courts case involving mental health. The courts are not happy with it at this time, due to things not getting filed timely. On a weekly basis they have as many as 7 hearings on 1 day and as few at 2 hearing on another day. It averages out to 12- 14 hearings per week. Eric will continue to work on this and work with BHO regarding the cost. Albert Ulrich entered the meeting at 2:17 pm. Albert Ulrich and Candy Hallom left the meeting at 2:20 Lara entered the meeting at 2:20 Eric noted that Karen sent out feedback letter for the FEIS. Erik said it was to go out yesterday but small changes were made to the document. Erik discussed special districts. He noted that April Toups has resigned and Dennis Eros has filed a recall notice against Deborah Hilliard. Would like to call WD2 and ask if they would still like a facilitator. Erik would like the board to suggest that mediation would not be beneficial at this time. Eric discussed sending a letter as opposed to calling the districts. Lara left the meeting and Candy entered. Eric said it is time to look at what our option is if no agreement can be made. Cullen discussed cemetery district 3 & 9 and they do not have active Board members. Cullen is working on contacting them. Eric discussed weed assessment and has sent a draft to the Treasurer, Assessor, and Bill Wamsley. Edna asked if LTAC member should be voting for their own project. Cullen recommended they not vote on their own projects. Gary asked regarding OPMA, when two commissioners go to a community meeting and one gets up and talks about county business. Is it a quorum? Cullen and Eric felt that it is ok if only one speaks. Edna said last week was the Washington State Association of Counties Board meeting. At 2:54 p.m., Commissioner Stamper announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 15 minutes to discuss pending and potential litigation. Executive Session ended at 3:09 p.m. with no decisions made. Meeting ended at 3:10 p.m.
