available and the City requested an additional $100,000. The Resolution on Monday is requesting
$300,000 for the City of Winlock.
The .09 Distressed Counties Committee recommended a $25,000 grant to the City of Vader for
Comprehensive Plan updates. They also recommended an $800,000 grant to the Port of Chehalis for the
“Rail Transload and Grain Facility”.
Matt spoke about legislative items.
He said it does not look like the Packwood Sewer project will be receiving funding. Commissioner Fund
noted that it is being funded in the House but not the Senate.
Matt noted that Mickelsen Parkway is not in either budget.
Matt said EDC requested $1.8 million for the Rush Road Interchange, but without WSDOT on board it
will go nowhere. WSDOT feels that the types of improvements proposed would not be impactful.
Matt said that client activity has been tapering off. They have two significant projects in the works.
Matt said that Smart Tank was this past weekend. The winner was Ron Guenther.
Matt discussed Mickelsen parkway. Benaroya is actively working on the site. The project is moving
forward.
