Eric Eisenberg said Assessor Dianne Dorey would prefer that the county’s Parcels website not include
name searches.
Eric discussed the Attorney General’s recent ruling about the tax and property rolls.
He discussed the reasons he is questioning whether the county should be allowing name search.
Arny Davis said he supports the idea of limiting the access to the information to protect vulnerable
citizens.
Arny left at 4:01 p.m.
Eric noted that the proposed solution at the state level is to help the vulnerable landowner create a shell
group to obscure their information.
The group discussed the benefits of having the name searches.
Commissioner Fund said she would like to further discuss the topic with Commissioner Stamper and the
board’s legal representative, Cullen Gatten, before making any decisions. Commissioner Jackson echoed
those sentiments.
Dianne Dorey asked why the Assessor and Treasurer cannot control what goes on the website.
Eric asked whether the commissioners would be willing to make changes to the website if the two
offices requested it.
