The commissioners briefly discussed a proclamation to recognize October 6- 12, 2019, as Lewis County
4-H Week.
The commissioners briefly discussed a proclamation to recognize October 6-12, 2019, as Fire Prevention
Week.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to issue a request for proposals (RFP) for preparation of a transfer
station feasibility study for Lewis County Solid Waste.
Josh Metcalf discussed a hearing to approve proposed modifications to the Vader-Enchanted Valley
Water System Fee and Rate Schedule.
Becky Butler discussed a hearing for the Lewis County 2019 Budget, Emergency and Supplemental
Appropriations to and transfers within Current Expense and other funds.
Commissioner Fund made a motion to move two Presentations, one Notice item, two Consent items and
two Hearings to the Monday, Oct. 7, 2019, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Stamper seconded the motion.
Motion passed 2-0.
Rieva Lester said the county needs one final applicant – someone to represent the business sector – to
complete the Salary Commission.
Lara McRea discussed upcoming training regarding benefits.
Steve Walton discussed the upcoming Cold Weather Shelter planning meeting.
Steve Wohld discussed cybersecurity awareness and planned system updates.
Steve Mansfield reminded the group about the upcoming Drop, Cover and Hold earthquake drill. He said
he is continuing to work on the CBA.
Josh Metcalf said Pigeon Springs, Newaukum and Interstate projects are wrapping up. He said work on
Borst Avenue continues. Josh said Public Works is working on succession planning.
Lee Napier said she will attend the Fire Chiefs’ meeting later in the day.
Erik Martin said he would meet with TCOMM later in the day to discuss the feasibility study proposal. He
also discussed the Flood Control Zone District.
Susan DeLaire left at 9:33 a.m.
Becky Butler discussed the Citizens Budget Committee as well as upcoming budget meetings and the
upcoming 2019 budget amendment.
Rieva Lester discussed the launch of PacketWriter 2.0.
In response to Frank Corbin’s question, Commissioner Fund and Erik Martin discussed the Flood Control
Zone District’s work to facilitate a floodwater retention facility.
