JP Anderson discussed a proclamation to declare October 2019 as Disability Employment Awareness
Month.
Erik Martin discussed a resolution to appoint 10 individuals to the Lewis County Citizens' Commission on
Salaries for Elected Officials (Salary Commission).
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to amend the end date of Resolution 11-439 committing fund
balance for Solid Waste Capital Improvements into a Capital Improvement Account within the Solid
Waste Fund 401.
Daleyn Coleman discussed a resolution to approve a State Mandated Salary Adjustment for the
Prosecutor.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to approve a Memorandum of Understanding between Lewis County
and Lewis County Public Works to accept funding under RCW 82.14.370 “Distressed Counties .09%
Fund” for the North Lewis County Industrial Access project.
Commissioner Fund made a motion to move one Presentation, two Consent items and four Deliberation
items to the Monday, Oct. 14, 2019, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Stamper seconded the motion.
Motion passed 2-0.
Announcements
Steve Walton discussed ongoing union negotiations.
Steve Mansfield said the flood meeting is planned for Oct. 29. He said his department is exploring a
social media retention sources.
County Manager Erik Martin thanked the group that worked on open enrollments.
JP Anderson encouraged the group to get flu shots. JP discussed a possible state ban on flavored vaping.
Steve Wohld discussed the new mics in the hearing room.
Josh Metcalf said Solid Waste’s RFQ has been released. He discussed upcoming vacancies.
Lee Napier invited the group to the 4 p.m. Oct. 22 process improvement report.
Becky Butler discussed the all-day budget meetings planned to kick off Oct. 10. Becky also said she
would have a late add for Monday: a resolution regarding an agreement with Tacoma Power.
Lee Napier left at 9:51 a.m.
JP Anderson said he would have a late add: a resolution related to CJTA.
Commissioner Stamper discussed the previous day’s Penny Playground ground-breaking ceremony and
Cross-Sector Summit.
Commissioner Fund discussed a ribbon-cutting event and a Twin Transit meeting held the previous day.
She also discussed Centralia’s proposed fireworks ordinance. Commissioner Fund invited the group to
the Oct. 26 Matilda Jackson commemoration as well as the Nov. 1 Legislative Roundtable.
