Commissioner Fund discussed a proclamation recognizing the first full week of May as National Corrections Officer Week. Steve Walton discussed a proclamation recognizing May 6-12 as National Travel and Tourism Week. Rieva Lester discussed a proclamation recognizing May as Drug Court Month. Erik Martin discussed the proposed acquisition of additional right of way for Pigeon Springs Road in Onalaska. Erik Martin discussed the ratification of agreement W2RLSWFA-1719-LeCSWU-00039 with the Washington State Dept. of Ecology for moderate risk waste and recycling programs. Erik Martin discussed a resolution to approve the purchase of Comcast Phone, LLC subscriber address data for the purpose of improving the County's accuracy of address verification and maintenance functions. Erik said the information will help with GIS. Erik Martin discussed the proposed acquisition of additional right of way for Coal Creek Drive in Packwood. Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move four (4) Presentation items, two (2) Consent items and four (4) Deliberation items to the Monday, May 7, 2018, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Erik Martin invited the group to the May 18 “Roadeo” at Area 5 on Brim Road in Ethel. Danette York discussed her recent conference. The new Risk Administrator, Wayne Whiton, introduced himself. Steve Wohld discussed the influx of cyberattacks at other area entities. Becky Butler said the rate memo will be sent out soon and will be due June 11. Archie Smith said county manager interviews will be held the afternoon of May 16. He said a meet-and- greet is planned for 6 to 8 p.m. May 15. Archie said the pool has been narrowed to three applicants. The commissioners welcomed Wayne to the group. Commissioner Fund invited the group to the May 4 Mayors’ Meeting, at which broadband technology will be discussed. Wayne discussed his education and credentials. Meeting ended at 9:50 a.m.
