Becky Butler said the county received its second quarter 2018
PILT payment from Tacoma Power the previous week.
Ross Petersen discussed his recent tour of the Tacoma Power
dam.
Ross noted that past payments may have been increased by
less than the mandatory 2 percent.
Ross discussed the economic implications of the lake
drawdown as well as a recent harvest on Tacoma Power land,
from which the county collected no timber taxes or B & O
taxes.
Ross cautioned that the county needs to be prepared with data
before it sits down at the negotiation table with Tacoma Power. He said Pend Oreille, Wash., based its
ask on kilowatt hours.
Becky suggested getting a MOU for the CPI. The group discussed having Rodney Reynolds respond to
Tacoma Power via email.
The group said they would plan for a follow-up meeting to include Commissioner Stamper and Laura
Berg.
Steve Mansfield, Steve Walton, Arny Davis and Larry Grove left at 4:48 p.m.

Becky gave the following updates:
• Weed assessment discussion will be rescheduled.
• Lisa Anderson from DNR will discuss forest board yield with the incoming county manager.
• The BOCC needs to discuss the revised WSU MOU with Gary Fredricks.
• The sheriff has had a lot of jail overtime.
• Becky said she will formalize the budget advisory group process.
