2018-06-13 Directors UpdateDirectors’ Update June 13, 2018 9:02 a.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Erik Martin, Lee Napier, Wayne Whiton, Steve Walton, Steve Mansfield, JP Anderson, Becky Butler, Steve Wohld, and Archie Smith. Guest: Susan DeLaire Recorder: Candy Hallom Erik Martin discussed the notice items. Consent item for Health has been pulled. Erik Martin discussed the bid award for the Coal Creek Bank Stabilization Project. Erik Martin asked to add item for WSDOT grant funding for the Coal Creek project. Commissioner Jackson made a motion to move two (2) Notice items, two (2) Consent items, one (1) Deliberation item to the Monday, June 13, 2018, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Stamper seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Steve Walton discussed an issue at the fair. Becky Butler said rates are going out. Budget amendments need to be provided to Becky at the end of the week. Becky discussed Munis and asked all to be patient. Steve Wohld said the 2019 rates will be increased due to cyber security. Steve is meeting with PUD and Port of Chehalis and discussing fiber lines. He would like to look into grants. Steve discussed visitor badges for secured areas. JP Anderson stated things are going well. Erik Martin stated the Flood Control Zone District is taking another tour to the water retention facility. Lee Napier had a process improvement follow-up meeting. Commissioner Fund discussed Centralia City Council meeting. Commissioner Jackson discussed the citizens meeting at Timberland Library yesterday. Twin Transit is expanding the Centralia and Chehalis routes. Archie Smith discussed AFSME vs. Janus decision. It will turn the country into a right-to-work state. More information to come. Wayne Whiton stated Risk and Safety has been busy. Steve Mansfield stated they are extremely busy with the ILA. Meeting ended at 9:55 a.m.
