Matt Matayoshi gave a synopsis of the recent Shark Tank-style event. He said he is working with
Packwood on various sewer options, such as provider pumps, a full system, etc.
Matt said a project is coming to Onalaska. He said Stihl Northwest is moving from Chehalis to the port of
Centralia. He said a grocery distribution company plans to site locally, creating roughly 350 permanent
jobs.
Allyn Roe said he is working on a proposal for a $100 million project as well as a $5 million grant with the
Economic Development Association. He said the state governor has expressed interest in helping the
area secure a project.
Allyn discussed designated Opportunity Zones, which allows for deferment of capital gains.
Matt said he recently met with the Farm Bureau. He also discussed a recent flood meeting.
Commissioner Fund discussed having a point person for broadband technology. Matt said he would add
it to the EDC board’s agenda.
