2018-09-12 Directors UpdateDirectors’ Update September 12, 2018 9 a.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, County Manager Erik Martin, Tim Fife, Wayne Whiton, Steve Wohld, Lara McRea, Fred Evander, Steve Mansfield, Steve Walton, Archie Smith, Danette York (9:37 a.m.) Guest: Susan DeLaire Recorder: Rieva Lester Fred Evander discussed a resolution to approve the Ninth Supplemental to a Professional Services Agreement with French & Associates, LTD. Fred discussed a resolution to approve the sixteenth supplement to a Personal Services Agreement between West Consultants, Inc. and Lewis County Fred discussed a public hearing for Ordinance 1292, changes to LCC 17.42, zoning tables. Fred discussed a public hearing to consider Ordinance 1293, amending Lewis County Code chapter 15.15. HELD: A resolution to listing the bids received and contractor selected for the Lewis County 2017 Flexible Guideposts Project, CRP 2185A, Fed Project No. HSIP-000S(478). Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move two Consent items, two Deliberation items and two Hearings to the Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Roundtable Archie Smith said HR and Public Works are working on recruitment for the new director. Steve Walton said Central Services is working with Law and Justice regarding security. Steve Mansfield gave an update on the Miriam Fire. Fred Evander said burn restriction modifications are being considered. Steve Wohld said IT is looking at technology to help improve cybersecurity. Commissioner Jackson left at 9:35 a.m. Danette York joined at 9:37 a.m. Commissioner Jackson returned at 9:39 a.m. Danette said she will be out of the office. Lara McRea and County Manager Erik Martin discussed improvements in office procedures. Susan DeLaire left at 9:44 a.m. Commissioner Fund said Centralia has agreed to annex the Fairview Lane area. Commissioner Fund invited the group to the 2 p.m. presentation on the Chehalis Basin Strategy. Meeting ended at 9:48 a.m.
