Strategic Planning
Erik Martin said Tanner will Skype in for the Dec. 6 Mayors’ Meeting.
Public Health and Social Services
Water-Sewer Districts 2 and 5: Erik said he spoke to District 2 and learned that District 5’s incoming
commissioner has indicated the district will pay its outstanding bill and therefore avoid the possible
shutdown.
Annual all-staff training: Erik said the training is planned for Dec. 12.
Animal shelter donation: Erik said the donation is estimated at $1.1 million.
911 / Department of Emergency Services
Personnel: Erik said Andy Caldwell will be named an administrator. He said Jill Kangas has indicated she
will stay on until the end of 2020.
Erik said he has a meeting planned to discuss scoping regarding the 911 project.
Public Works
Solid Waste manager: Erik said a decision about Steve Skinner’s replacement is expected soon.
Mickelsen Parkway: Commissioner Jackson said he would reach out to Winlock Mayor Don Bradshaw
about the stalled funding.
Airport taxiway: Erik said the airport taxiway project will go back out to bid.
Community Development
Flood Authority support funding: Erik said funding the county receives for the staff support it provides
for the Flood Authority has been stalled. He said the funding goes from Ecology to the Recreation and
Conservation Office (RCO) and then gets distributed to the county.
Skookumchuck Wind Energy: Erik noted that the company often pays its county bills late. He said the
company has indicated construction will be complete by the end of the year.
Budget
The group further discussed having a county representative serve on the Lewis County Seniors Board in
an effort to help the group become self-sufficient so it doesn’t have to rely on county funds.
Commissioner Jackson said he would be out of the office Dec. 11-13.
Erik said he would be out of office Dec. 26-27.
Meeting ended at 12:01 p.m.
