Becky Butler and Eric Eisenberg discussed an effort to move WSU Extension employees under the
employment of WSU instead of Lewis County.
Eric proposed having a transition period the first quarter of the year and / or creating an April 1 start
time.
Becky discussed the need to address internal rates and rent as the county proceeds with the move.
Cullen Gatten said the WSU Extension reached out to ask whether Art Fuller could return. Cullen said
the PA’s Office strongly recommends against that. Commissioner Jackson clarified that Gary Fredricks
had reached out to him regarding Art Fuller’s potential return.
The commissioners directed Cullen to send WSU a letter regarding the county’s position following the
investigation into Art Fuller.
Eric said he will draft an agreement that transitions WSU Extension employee oversight from the county
to WSU.
The group discussed adding language to the county’s contract with the Lewis County Seniors Board to
add a county employee to the Lewis County Seniors Board as a non-voting member. The group decided
instead to start meeting with the group monthly – and continue the quarterly budget updates. Becky
suggested meeting with Ron Averill to review the proposed agreement.
Becky gave an update on year-end budgets.
Meeting ended at 4:06 p.m.
