Erik Martin discussed a grant opportunity for an EV charging station in Packwood.
Erik and Mary Kay Nelson said EDC and PUD would not be able to work as a sponsor for the grant.
However, the group discussed putting a plan in place moving forward to vet grants.
Commissioner Jackson joined the meeting at 11:22 a.m.
The group further discussed grant opportunities.
Commissioner Fund joined the meeting at 11:27 a.m.
Mary Kay discussed having the value of donated property count toward a grant’s required match.
The group discussed what would be needed for future grant possibilities, including letters of
commitment. Betsy Dillin said it would require roughly three weeks to prepare a grant similar to the one
Mary Kay was discussing.
The group discussed the difference between a quick-charge station and one that charges at a regular
speed.
The group discussed laying the groundwork for a partnership, including reaching out to TransAlta as a
possible partner for future grants.
The group discussed asking property owners to commit to use their land for a future charging station.
Erik suggested contacting the state to request copies of the winning grants.
