2017-05-10 Directors UpdateDirectors’ Update May 10, 2017 9:02 a.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund (by phone), Commissioner Jackson, Paulette Young (via Skype), Amanda Price, Steve Mansfield, Lee Napier, Erik Martin, Danette York, Tawni Shepherd, Matt Jaeger, Doug Carey, David Fine, Becky Butler, Carma Oaksmith, Archie Smith, Sheila Gray Guests: Susan DeLaire, Natalie Johnson Recorder: Rieva Lester David Fine gave an overview of the BOCC’s new Open Public Meetings Act policy and the circumstances surrounding its inception. David left at 9:37 a.m. Rieva Lester discussed proclamations for drug court and tourism. She said a law enforcement proclamation will be placed on Monday’s wrap-up agenda. Erik Martin discussed a call for bids for a base stabilization project. Lee Napier discussed a resolution naming the Flood Control Zone District as project sponsor. Erik Martin discussed a scale project bid award. Amanda Price left at 9:56 a.m. Danette York discussed a resolution for transitional housing. Commissioner Jackson made a motion to move two (2) Proclamations, one (1) Notice, and four (4) Consent items to the Monday, May 15, 2017, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Fund seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Roundtable Steve Mansfield said he is working on structure and stabilization projects in 911. He said he’s working on policies and procedures, which will roll into the Strategic Plan and interlocals. Lee Napier said she is setting up another meeting to discuss water conservancy. Erik Martin said there is a request for donated leave for an employee. He said he will interview for a solid waste tech. Tawni Shepherd said she’ll have a proclamation. Matt Jaeger said IT is hard at work on Munis. Becky Butler said rates will be the next big step for budget. She said she’s working on documentation regarding unfunded mandates. She gave an update on the Blue Ribbon Task Force. Carma Oaksmith said she is losing a great employee in Fiscal. Sheila Gray said the Master Gardeners are holding a plant sale at the fairgrounds May 13-14. She said the Fresh From the Farm guides have a arrived. Commissioner Jackson thanked the group for patience regarding the agenda changes. He said will meet with the state 911 director May 11. Commissioner Fund said she is on her way to WSAC. Meeting ended at 10:17 a.m.
