Becky Butler asked if the board supported the Prosecutor’s request for funding for two cold case
detectives.
Steve Walton asked if the detective positions are a “have to have” or a “it would be nice to have.”
Becky said she would invite Jonathan Meyer to her upcoming budget meeting to discuss it.
Becky discussed the Nurse Family Partnership with Thurston County. She said the document shows 33
percent.
Commissioner Fund made a motion to add $21,000, to come out of the Mental Health Tax, for the
Nurse Family Partnership program.
Commissioner Stamper seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
Don Bradshaw joined the meeting at 11:50 a.m.
Commissioner Fund discussed the constraints regarding funding.
Ron Averill joined the meeting at 11:52 a.m.
Don Bradshaw said he’d like to see compromise to move forward with the senior center transition.
Connie Sneed joined the meeting at 11:56 a.m.
Becky reviewed the Budget timeline and dates. She discussed the possibility of mid-year cuts.
She discussed the Nov. 20 informational meeting.
Becky said the DNR’s forest board yield projection is higher than the previous quarter. She said sales tax
continues to be positive. She said the Tacoma Dam payment has not yet been received. She said she
contacted the Treasurer’s Office, which has reached out to Tacoma Dam.
