2020-01-27 Code Enforcement updateCode Enforcement update January 27, 2020 2:33 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Bill Teitzel, JP Anderson, John Abplanalp Guest: Dr. Lindsey Pollock Recorder: Rieva Lester Bill Teitzel gave updates on code compliance problems. • 2267 US Hwy 12, Salkum: Landowner was told he could get a fill and grade permit after the fact for berm work he did on his property due to an unmaintained stormwater retention pond on neighboring property. Bill said the problem with a retention pond is a civil matter between the owner and Salkum Heights. • Labree Road and Hamilton Road: EPA will be working on Superfund site. Bill said Lewis County will help spread the word about the project, which is expected to run several years. John Abplanalp said a public meeting is planned for 5:30 p.m. March 11. • 138 Shelton Rd., Randle: None of the witnesses called to testify attended the District Court hearing, so case was dismissed. • 405 Leudinghaus Rd., Chehalis: Property owner has been told that if the racetrack is used for commercial purposes, he will face fines/citations. • 3677 Centralia Alpha Rd., Onalaska: New owners have purchased property and are moving the mobile home at risk of falling in the river. • 185 Pine Tree, Toledo: Owner may be cited related to the unpermitted house that was made out of cargo containers and / or the new home structure being made of straw. • 137 Kiona Rd., Randle: Concerns related to flooding unfounded. • 242B US Hwy 12, Chehalis: Owner has been cited for solid waste, junk vehicles and RV occupancy violations. • 196 Mountain View, Packwood: Complaints about fence on gravel bar unfounded. • 250 Logan Hill Road: Contractor may have dumped fill near critical areas. • 120 Washington, Mineral: RVs are parked on property. Owner tried to remove, but vehicles are stuck in the mud. • 3293 King Road, Winlock: Unpermitted septic. Owner has been given notice. • Blueberry farm on Jackson Highway in Toledo: Owner may return land to former condition. • 620 Boistfort Rd., Curtis: Severe septic system failures. • 3030 Lowery, Centralia: Owner has been issued a stop work order. • Elma Drive: Continuing Group B water violations and drinking water violations.
