Call for bids for the Snyder Rd MP 0.20 Culvert Replacement Project BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 20-092 CALL FOR BIDS FOR THE SNYDER RD MP 0.20 CULVERT REPLACEMENT PROJECT, SM 90-15F721210020 (FEMA NO. PA-10-WA-4253- PW-00112) WHEREAS, Hall Creek crosses Snyder Road near Packwood, Wash. The culvert at Snyder Road mile post (MP) 0.20 was damaged during an extreme weather event in 2015 and cannot be repaired because it is currently a fish barrier. Replacement must meet current WDFW fish passage guidelines, therefore, the existing damaged 5- ft span corrugated metal culvert will be replaced with a 20-ft span by 8-ft tall by 40-ft long precast concrete box culvert. This replacement project qualifies for 75% FEMA participation with 12.5% WA EMD and 12.5% Lewis County match. In order to prepare for replacement in the summer of 2020, competitive bids are being solicited from Contractors to supply, deliver and install this structure along with streambed rock mix, planting mitigation, HMA, guardrail and other work required to complete this project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 11-437, construction projects exceeding a certain monetary threshold must be competitively bid; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 18-116, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) adopted the 2018 Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction and this proposal shall be performed by contract in accordance with these specifications. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Department of Public Works is instructed to issue a Call for Bids and Contract Specifications for Snyder Rd MP 0.20 Culvert Replacement Project, SM 90-15F721210020 (FEMA No. PA-10-WA-4253-PW-00112). Bids for this proposal shall be submitted to the Clerk of the BOCC (351 N.W. North Street, Room 210, CMS-01, Chehalis, WA 98532) by or before 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, and will be opened on or after 11:00 a.m. on April 7, 2020, subject to official proposal addenda that establishes an alternate bid due date or opening time.
