Budget
Becky Butler said the update for the week has been postponed for a week.
Public Works
Water Sewer District 5: Erik said the district commissioners may sign the transfer agreement the
following week.
South County Airport taxiway: Erik discussed the apparent low bidder for the project.
Fleet purchases: Erik said Chrysler discontinued the pursuit-rated Chargers and that the county is
looking at a hybrid as an alternative. He said the Sheriff also is requesting a jail transport vehicle.
CDL requirements: Erik said new state requirements will no longer allow the county to provide the
training for obtaining a CDL.
Public Health and Social Services
Coronavirus: Erik discussed the knowns and unknowns related to COVID-19 as well as precautionary
measures the county is asking leaders to take.
Housing: Erik said the City of Centralia will hold a workshop the following day to discuss housing issues
and homeless issues.
911/DEM update
Callworks: Erik discussed an agreement for phone services.
Infrastructure meeting: Erik said the infrastructure meeting with the consultant is set for March 9.
Regional Inter-Operability Committee Chair: Erik said Scott Smitherman has been elected Regional Inter-
Operability Committee Chair.
Sheriff Radio update: Erik said the water-damaged radio has been repaired. However, he said, it will
need to be replaced.
Community Development
Plans Examiner: Erik said the county’s Plans Examiner has taken a job elsewhere.
Cowlitz River Access SEPA: Erik said the SEPA was scheduled to be out this week but may be delayed due
to illness. Chris Murphy asked what the next steps would be.
Erik said it would be published and then the 14-day public comment period would open. He suggested
Chris reach out to Karen Witherspoon for exact details.
Internal Services
Erik said Steve Wohld will provide an update the following week.
Announcements
Commissioner Stamper discussed a recent Washington Counties Risk Pool meeting, during which the
group discussed an upcoming conference in Florida.

The commissioners discussed their calendars.
Commissioner Fund discussed the recent lodging tax collections.
