Award contract for Historic Courthouse Masonry Restoration Project BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 20-178 AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR THE HISTORIC COURTHOUSE MASONRY RESTORATION PROJECT WHEREAS, Lewis County has accepted funding from the Washington State Department of Archaeology, Historic Courthouse Grant Program, to preserve, rehabilitate and restore the Historic Lewis County Courthouse; and WHEREAS, masonry restoration of the southern exposure of the Historic Courthouse's exterior is included as a project in the grant award; and WHEREAS, this portion of the building suffered water intrusion during several storms during the previous winter and caused significant damage to the interior of the building and repairs are critical to prevent further damage from future storms; and WHEREAS, Lewis County drafted plans and specifications to effect repairs by replacing mortar joints, caulking and other repairs to restore the building envelope and prevent future intrusions, made a call for bids from the Small Works Roster and received bids as follows: JMS Masonry Restoration Tacoma, WA $80,000.00 Pioneer Waterproofing Co. Tigard, OR $53,460.00 D&R Masonry Restoration, Inc Milwaukie, OR $73,000.00; and WHEREAS, bids have been reviewed by staff, and Pioneer Waterproofing appears to have submitted the low responsive bid; and WHEREAS, these repairs are time sensitive and need to be completed at the soonest date. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) that Lewis County awards the contract for Historic Courthouse Masonry Restoration, Project# 31-2012 to Pioneer Waterproofing Company of Tigard, Ore.; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief of internal Services is hereby authorized to sign said contract on behalf of the BOCC.
