2020-06-01 Update with County ManagerUpdate with County Manager June 1, 2020 4:07 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund (remotely), Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik Martin, Lara McRea, Steve Wohld Recorder: Rieva Lester BOCC Office reopening guidelines: Erik Martin said Lara McRea has been working on guidelines for when the BOCC office reopens. Commissioner Jackson said he would like the commissioners’ office to request, rather than require, the public to wear masks to enter the BOCC office. The other commissioners agreed to having it be a request rather than a mandate based on the Governor’s guidance. Lara said the bench in the small conference room will be removed and that the room will be used for meetings with no more than six attendees. Steve Wohld said the old WSU training room will be used for overflow seating. Lara discussed plans for when the county enters Phase 4. She said holding Zoom meetings is labor intensive because additional staffing is needed in order to accommodate the additional work. Lara said the county could either move away from Zoom or increase staffing. Commissioner Fund said she would be happy to spearhead the Zoom controls in order to continue holding meetings via Zoom in Phase 4. Employee picnic: The group discussed postponing the employee picnic until August and moving to to-go orders. Calendars / vacation schedule: Erik Martin said he will be out of the office the week of July 4. Steve Wohld said a “kneel-in” protest is expected to take place on the premises later in the day.
