Becky Butler said April sales tax collection was down 4 percent to 5 percent for April.
Erik Martin said Defender of the Day Rachel Tiller had proposed a increasing her contract with Lewis
County to $7,995 per month to continue providing services. Erik reminded the group that after the BOCC
tentatively agreed to her request, Rachel subsequently requested additional compensation, including
vacation pay, just before the resolution was set to be signed. He said restrictions related to OPMA rules
during the shutdown had delayed the Board’s ability to discuss it.
Steve Wohld outlined proposed organizational changes. Erik Martin said the changes provide overall
savings totaling $50,000.
Commissioner Stamper said he’d like to review the proposal before agreeing to authorize Erik Martin to
sign the PAFs. Commissioner Jackson agreed to authorize Erik to sign the PAFs. Commissioner Fund said
she would agree if the title “recreational services” is revamped.
Steve Wohld discussed a metal sign the commissioners had agreed to purchase for the hearing room. He
said the cost is estimated at $500. Commissioner Fund suggested the three commissioners consider
splitting the cost three ways so that county money isn’t used on the project.
Erik said the county has a draft purchase and sale agreement regarding Water-Sewer District 5. He said
the court hearing for the transfer will take place later in the week. He said the county is working to
create an agreement with Water-Sewer District 2.
Erik discussed a recent meeting with Benaroya.
The group discussed calendars.
Meeting ended at 2:47 p.m.
