Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik
Martin, Becky Butler, Steve Wohld, Tammy Martin
Recorder: Rieva Lester
Erik Martin said the county has learned of new COVID-19 cases that will be announced later in the day.
Erik said a public mask policy is in the works. The group discussed how to accommodate individuals who
indicate that they cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition. The group discussed the possibility of
limiting access to the historic courthouse to one entry point so one person would be the point of
contact.
Becky Butler said a grant document has been drafted to allow using $18,000 from the mental health tax
fund to provide matching funds for matching funds.
Becky said she is looking to see if $10,000 in .09 Distressed Counties funding could be used as matching
funds for a distance learning grant.
Commissioner Fund made a motion to allow awarding $10,000 in .09 (Distressed Counties) funds to be
used as matching funds for a distance learning grant – contingent on the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office
review and approval – and to allow the County Manager to sign a letter indicating such on the county’s
behalf.
Commissioner Jackson seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
Erik Martin discussed broadband funding available through the USDA.
Meeting ended at 9:58 a.m.
