Josh Metcalf discussed a call for bids for the Tucker Road Improvements Project.
Lee Napier discussed an ordinance of Lewis County lifting a moratorium upon certain building permits
within the boundaries of Middle Fork Water-Sewer System – formally known as Water-Sewer District #5.
Commissioner Fund made a motion to move one notice item, two consent items and one hearing to the
Monday, July 27, 2020, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3-0.
Announcements
Becky Butler offered assistance for budget planning. She reminded the group to be conscientious about
COVID-19 tracking.
Doug Carey discussed maintenance work on the historic courthouse.
Daleyn Coleman said HR has uploaded information about COVID-19 onto the intranet for employees.
Steve Wohld discussed maintenance and other projects taking place.
JP Anderson discussed hiring and onboarding efforts. He discussed a planned update to a health order
issued the previous day. JP discussed work being done regarding the reopening of schools in the fall.
Becky Butler discussed an upcoming meeting with the Lewis County Seniors the following week. She and
Steve Wohld discussed the group’s plan to apply for a grant, a move that would require an extended
lease. Steve floated the idea of transferring ownership.
Matt Jaeger discussed an uptick in telecommuting equipment.
Tamara Hayes provided updates on 4-H plans, a cleanup at the fairgrounds, Discover Lewis County and
grant allocations.
Gary Fredricks said various groups are working to provide fair alternatives to the 4-H kids and others. He
also discussed plans for his successor. Gary said WSU continues its work to create a free wi-fi hotspot.
The commissioners discussed their calendars.
Wednesday workshop
Matt Matayoshi said the EDC is requesting permission to use leftover .09 “Distressed Counties” funding,
totaling roughly $10,000, for water to use for sewer.
Erik Martin said he believed the county already may have modified the language to allow for that use.
The commissioners said they would support allowing that use if the change hadn’t already taken place.
COVID-19
JP Anderson said tallies for new COVID cases are being updated as of 1:30 p.m. daily. He discussed work
to improve the statewide data system.
