LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 21-242
ADOPT CHANGES TO THE REGULAR PUBLIC
MEETING SCHEDULE OF THE LEWIS COUNTY
BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS, the Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA), RCW 42.30, requires the Lewis
County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to establish regular public
meeting dates, times and locations; and
WHEREAS, the BOCC on Feb. 22, 2021, adopted Resolution 21-068 to establish a
regular meeting schedule that set the BOCC meeting dates and times as 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. weekdays, excluding state and federal holidays, with the legislative
meeting (the "BOCC Business Meeting") taking place at 2 p.m. Tuesdays effective
March 2, 2021; and
WHEREAS, the BOCC has determined it is in the best public interest to update its
regular meeting schedule; and
WHEREAS, the BOCC will continue to be in session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
weekdays, excluding state and federal holidays; and
WHEREAS, the BOCC will continue to meet in the historic courthouse at 351 N.W.
North Street in Chehalis, Washington; and
WHEREAS, effective July 13, 2021, the BOCC will hold its legislative meeting (the
"BOCC Business Meeting") at 10 a.m. Tuesdays each week, and the legislative
meeting will take place in the Commissioners' Hearing Room on the second floor
of the historic courthouse unless otherwise noted; and
WHEREAS, the BOCC will continue to adhere to the requirements of the OPMA as
outlined in RCW 42.30.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the BOCC hereby changes its regular public
meeting calendar to reflect the following:
• the BOCC is in session from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays
• the BOCC's meetings take place in the historic courthouse at 351 N.W. North
Street in Chehalis, Wash.
• the BOCC will not meet during days that have been designated a state or
federal holiday
• the BOCC will hold its legislative meeting (the "BOCC Business Meeting") at
10 a.m. Tuesdays, excluding holidays, effective July 13, 2021.
