2021-09-20 BOCC Wrap-UpBOCC Wrap-Up September 20, 2021 9:01 a.m. Present: Commissioner Pollock, Commissioner Swope, County Manager Erik Martin, Alison Puckett, Undersheriff Wes Rethwill, Steve Wohld, Austin Majors, Chris Panush, Tammy Martin Guests: Claudia Yaw, Nic Scott Recorder: Rieva Lester Business Meeting Commissioner Swope made a motion to add to the Sept. 21, 2021, Business Meeting the following resolution: • Resolution 21-349: Appoint Carol Brock and Tim Wood to the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging (LMTAAA) Advisory Council. Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion passed 2-0. TransAlta / IPAT lands: No update. COVID-19: No update. Fire District 4 vacancy: Rieva Lester noted that a Fire District 4 commissioner passed away in May and that the remaining commissioners have not been able to agree on a successor. The commissioners directed Rieva Lester to open an application period for the vacant position. Polco survey: The commissioners directed Becky Butler to break down the Polco survey questions by commissioner district, with the possibility of breaking the questions down further if needed. Broadband request for proposals (RFP): The commissioners said they had no changes. PUD request for letters of support regarding three grant applications: Willie Painter said the PUD is requesting grants for its Winlock substation project as well as broadband projects to serve the Vader and Elbe areas. He said the PUD is seeking letters of support. The commissioners agreed to sign the letters of support. They indicated they would have one commissioner sign on behalf of the entire board.
