Polco citizen engagement: The commissioners asked that the upcoming outreach postcards include
their names.
Memorial service for Commissioner Stamper: Rieva Lester and Erik Martin said the county will hold a
community service for Commissioner Stamper at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Southwest Washington
Fairgrounds.
Broadband proposals: Erik said the county received responses from Comcast, PUD and ToledoTel. He
said the county will meet with applicants Oct. 12. Erik said the county’s pre-application for funding is
due to the Department of Commerce by Oct. 18.

Board committees and appointments: Chris Panush discussed a vacancy on the Washington Counties
Risk Pool (WCRP). He suggested appointing himself as “Director” and Erik and Steve Wohld as alternates.
The commissioners said they support the suggestion and directed staff to move forward with the
change.
Redistricting: Rieva Lester said staff met the previous week to discuss possible timelines for redistricting
as a result of the recent Census.
Community Integrated Health Services (CIHS) housing: Commissioner Pollock discussed housing
funding available to help individuals with behavioral health needs.
Calendars: Commissioner Swope said the Housing Summit has been moved to Dec. 2.
COVID-19: Andrew Logerwell said there has been no update to President Biden’s proposed vaccine
mandate for employers with more than 100 employees.
Announcements: Commissioner Swope noted that he attended the EDC banquet the previous week. He
noted that Becky Butler was honored for her community efforts.
Workers’ compensation litigation
At 9:25 a.m., Commissioner Pollock announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under
RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 10 minutes to discuss workers’ compensation litigation.
Executive session started at 9:26 a.m.
At 9:36 a.m., the Board extended Executive Session for 5 minutes.
At 9:41 a.m., the Board extended Executive Session for 2 minutes.
Executive Session ended at 9:43 a.m. Commissioner Pollock noted that no decisions had been made.
