2021-12-14 PA UpdatePA Update December 14, 2021 11:25 a.m. Present: Commissioner Pollock, Commissioner Swope, Commissioner Grose, County Manager Erik Martin, Jonathan Meyer, Brittani Bonahoom, Casey Mauermann, Austin Majors, Eric Eisenberg, Undersheriff Wes Rethwill, Sheriff Snaza, Chief Kevin Engelbertson, Chief Dusty Breen, Tom Stanton, Becky Butler, Tiffanie Morgan Recorder: Rieva Lester HR / PDR position regarding bodycam videos Jonathan Meyer said he met with a handful of individuals from HR/Risk/PDR, the Sheriff’s Office, GTAC and others regarding the HR / PDR position the commissioners approved to deal with bodycam videos. Jonathan said the group concluded that the new public records position would fit best under the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, especially considering redaction needs. Jonathan said his office can do the work. He discussed retention schedules, redactions and data storage. Jonathan noted that it’s estimated that it takes 10 minutes to process every 1 minute of video recorded. The group discussed the need to establish fees to fund the position. The commissioners approved housing the position under the PA’s Office. Sheriff Snaza thanked the Sheriff’s Office and all others involved for their efforts. Timber sale At 11:43 a.m., Commissioner Pollock announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 10 minutes to discuss potential litigation regarding a timber sale appeal. Executive session started at 11:44 a.m. Executive session ended at 11:54 a.m. Commissioner Pollock noted that no decisions had been made. Commissioner Grose made a motion to grant Eric Eisenberg permission to contact the attorney for the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to learn more information about the appeals they have and what DNR plans to do with them. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0. Meeting adjourned at 11:56 p.m.
