2022-01-03 Economic Alliance UpdateEconomic Alliance Update January 3, 2022 1:30 p.m. Present: Commissioner Pollock, Commissioner Grose, Commissioner Swope, Todd Chaput, Austin Majors, Richard DeBolt, Lindsey Shankle, Becky Butler, Steve Wohld, Semere Huckleberry, Erik Martin Guests: Eric Rosane, Frank Corbin, Nic Scott, Susan DeLaire Recorder: Tammy Martin Richard said the Economic Alliance is working with the chairs of the capital committees regarding the “dig once program”. Richard said there a few corridors that would be useful for the program. He said the EA is looking into fixing sewer and broadband. There have not been projects placed before the Legislature until the Commissioners agree on a path to pursue. Todd Chaput said the Economic Alliance was able to meet with all the smaller cities. The Economic Alliance is still working to get information from the PUD and Puget Sound Energy. Scoring Matrix: As the Economic Alliance meets with the smaller cities, they are finding that the scoring system will not work with all the projects. EDC Reporting: Richard said the Economic Alliance has signed an exclusivity agreement to be disclosed soon. The Energy Innovation Coalition is starting to move forward by acquiring funding and creating a center. Richard said the Economic Alliance is helping the Fox Theater with project management to get the theater completed. New luncheon programs will be starting soon. The Economic Alliance created a Gary Stamper memorial scholarship. Distressed Counties Funding: Richard said there might be a possibility of legislature changes to the Distressed Counties laws. Richard said committee members on the Distressed Counties Committee will serve one-year terms and that the positions will rotate yearly. Meeting ended at 1:55 p.m.
