LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 22-029
APPOINT JON R. SARGEANT TO THE DANGEROUS
ANIMAL DESIGNATION (DAD) BOARD
WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) established
the Dangerous Animal Designation (DAD) Board via Resolution 18-351 on Nov. 26,
2018, in an effort to enhance public participation in the dangerous animal
designation process according to Lewis County Code, Chapter 6. 05 Animals; and
WHEREAS, one vacancy remains: Craig Burke stepped down sometime before
October 18, 2021. The BOCC appointed Maritza Bravo to fill that vacancy for one
day - Oct. 25, 2021 (Res. 21-373) - to ensure the DAD Board had a quorum for its
Oct. 25 hearing; and
WHEREAS, Jon R. Sargeant of Chehalis has expressed an interest and a
willingness to serve as a full-time member on the Dangerous Animal Designation
(DAD) Board for a three-year term; and
WHEREAS, the other four seats are occupied by Elsista Ridings, Charles R.
Snipes, April Hoyt and Kevin T. Nelson whose terms extend through December 31,
2024, as per Resolution 21-462; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public's best interest to appoint this full-time member to
the DAD Board.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby appoints Jon R.
Sargeant as a full-time member of the DAD Board for a three-year term expiring
December 31, 2025.
