Appoint Commissioner F. Lee Grose and Marylynne Kostick to the Lower Columbia Fish Recovery Board. BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 22-071 APPOINT COMMISSIONER F. LEE GROSE AND MARYLYNNE KOSTICK TO THE LOWER COLUMBIA FISH RECOVERY BOARD WHEREAS, the Lower Columbia Fish Recovery Board (LCFRB) is a 15-member board that works with technical experts to help develop habitat recovery plans for salmon determined to be at risk of extinction; and WHEREAS, the board includes individuals who represent local governments, the state Legislature, the Cowlitz Indian Tribe, a hydropower company, environmental interests, landowner interests and the public; and WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) appoints two individuals to the LCFRB: one is a commissioner who represents the BOCC, and the other is Lewis County citizen who represents the public; and WHEREAS, the BOCC seat held by Commissioner Gary Stamper is vacant following his untimely death; and WHEREAS, Commissioner F. Lee Grose, who had served as the citizen representative on the LCFRB as per Resolution 15-095, has been appointed to fill the remainder of Commissioner Stamper's unexpired term on the BOCC and has also expressed a willingness to represent the BOCC on the LCFRB, leaving the citizen seat vacant; and WHEREAS, Chehalis resident Marylynne Kostick have expressed an interest and willingness to fill the vacant citizen seat on the LCFRB; and WHEREAS, it is in the best public interest to fill the two positions. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby appoints Lewis County Commissioner F. Lee Grose to represent the BOCC on the LCFRB, effective immediately, for a term ending Dec. 31, 2026; and NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the BOCC hereby appoints Marylynne Kostick to represent the public on the LCFRB, effective immediately, for a four-year term ending Dec. 31, 2026.
