Opioid: The commissioners said they would like to delegate signatory authority regarding the opioid
litigation to Commissioner Pollock.
Budget update: Becky reviewed year-to-date expenditures and revenues.
Budget calendar: The group reviewed the proposed budget calendar for the year, approving Nov. 23 for
the informational meeting.
Broadband: Awaiting draft contract from the state. SEPA and permitting processes continue.
Becky said the county is again applying for a grant to help with body cameras.
American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA): Becky said Vader is looking for ARPA support for a city project.
Commissioner Swope said Chehalis has earmarked $250,000 toward its Bishop Road project. He said
Napavine would provide water for the project. He said he’d like the county to earmark $750,000 toward
the project.
Commissioner Swope made a motion to allocate $750,000 to the Bishop Road project. Commissioner
Grose seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Becky asked who would be the fiscal agent for the project. She asked which funding pot would be
reduced to free up the $750,000.
Becky said a decision would need to be made regarding whether the funds would be a transfer, a
reimbursement or a shared service.
Commissioner Swope said he’d like the commissioners to earmark $500,000 for the Fox Theatre.
Commissioner Grose said he is urging Vader to apply for .09 Distressed Counties funding for its project.
Commissioner Grose said he would like to see the county provide funding to the Fire Mountain Arts
Council. The group discussed looking at tourism funds for the project.
Erik Martin said he has identified a potential contractor for the strategic planning effort.
