Eric Eisenberg announced that the county has purchased a building to house a permanent night-by-night
shelter. He provided the following details:
• The building – located at 2015 Kresky Avenue in Chehalis – currently houses the Washington
State Employees’ Credit Union.
• The move will increase availability and affordability for housing at all levels.
• The creation of a shelter is required by federal law.
• The shelter’s location – between Centralia and Chehalis -- will allow access to transportation.
• The county will contract out for the management / operation of the shelter.
The commissioners thanked Eric for his work on the project.
