Agenda changes: Commissioner Swope made a motion to add to the Sept. 13, 2022, BOCC Business Meeting the following resolutions: • Resolution 22-293: Authorize the Public Works Director to execute an agreement with the Washington State Community Aviation Revitalization Board to help finance replacement of a fuel system at the South Lewis County Airport. • Resolution 22-294: Approve contract C11-0127-22 between Lewis County Veterans Memorial Museum and Public Health and Social Services. • Resolution 22-297: Select Economic Alliance of Lewis County for tourism promotion and destination marketing services for Lewis County. Commissioner Grose seconded. Josh Metcalf discussed the CARB loan. He noted the county will seek outside funding, such as grants, to minimize the amount of the loan. Meja Handlen discussed the proposed agreement with the Veterans Museum. She said the $75,000 grant will be for Sept. 1, 2022, through Feb. 28, 2023. She said the group will be seeking grant funding. Erik Martin discussed the proposed agreement with Economic Alliance. Commissioner Swope made a motion to amend his original motion to exclude Resolution 22-297. Commissioner Grose seconded. Motion passed 3-0. The motion, as amended to move Resolutions 22-293 and 22-294 to the Sept. 13 Business Meeting, passed 3-0. Goat Rocks Fire: Josh Metcalf provided an update on emergency efforts. Josh, the commissioners and Undersheriff Rethwill thanked the firefighters, staff members, other partners and volunteers for their help. The group noted the fire danger remains. Letter to Department of Natural Resources regarding state trust lands: The commissioners said they would further discuss the letter Sept. 14. Lodging tax allocations / funding pots: The commissioners discussed increasing the lodging tax grant allocation limit. Lodging tax all-day presentation(s): Commissioner Grose said he would be able to attend the Sept. 29- 30 presentations. Homeless services committee: Commissioner Swope said he would like to workshop with Commerce about the homeless services contracts rather than create a committee to review them. The group discussed engaging with the Public Health and Social Services advisory committee to have the committee members help review contract standards. The commissioners approved the following calendar items: • Legislative Roundtable: 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 14. • Tour of Lights: All day Friday, Dec. 16. Meeting ended at 9:57 a.m.
