Commissioner Brummer make a motion to add to the agenda an executive session discussion about cybersecurity under RCW 42.30.110(1)(a)(ii). Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Commissioner Pollock joined shortly after 9 a.m. >> Wrap-Up items 2023 legislative session: Commissioner Swope said a bill has been proposed for a volunteer gas tax. • The commissioners discussed House and Senate bills dealing with DNR carbon credits. The commissioners said they oppose both versions of the bill. • A watered-down bill addressing police pursuits. The commissioners said they oppose the bill. • SB 5440 regarding mental health services: The commissioners said they need additional information. • HB 1611: The commissioners said they oppose the bill. • SB 5358: The commissioners said they support the bill. • HB 1720: The commissioners said they need additional information. • HB 1513: The commissioners said they oppose the bill. • SB 5474: The commissioners said they oppose the bill. Pinchot Partners: Commissioner Brummer said he’d volunteer to serve on the group if the meeting time is changed. East Lewis County Public Development Authority (ELCPDA) Longmire project: Commissioner Brummer said the ELCPDA is concerned about its solvency. He noted that the ELCPDA’s agreement with the tenant is for $1,800 per month. Becky Butler asked if the ELCPDA paid off its CRAFT III loan. .09 / CEDS List: The commissioners said they’d revisit the topic the following week. County Manager recruitment / succession planning: The commissioners said they’d revisit the topic the following day. Erik Martin said GMC is the apparent low bidder at $19,500. Cybersecurity: At 9:27 a.m., Commissioner Swope announced that the Board would be going into executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(a)(ii) for 10 minutes to discuss cybersecurity. Executive session started at 9:28 a.m. Executive session ended at 9:38 a.m. Commissioner Swope noted that no decisions had been made. Calendars: Commissioner Brummer said he will be at a conference at the end of the week. Announcements: Commissioner Swope discussed a visit to a shelter facility in Central Washington. >> County Manager items Office operations: Erik said he will meet with his management team later in the week to discuss succession planning. The commissioners said they would phase out Zoom for all but the following meetings beginning the week of Feb. 27: Wrap-Up, Directors, Business, Mayors. Meeting adjourned at 9:42 a.m.
