Public comment: None.
Alex Murray discussed a resolution for the declaration of surplus personal property.
Matt Jaeger, Alex Murray and Matt Thuston discussed a resolution to authorize the Director of
Information Technology Services to execute a purchase order with Brightly Software Inc., utilizing
Sourcewell Contract. Commissioner Swope directed staff to work with the company for a proof of
contract or exit
Amber Smith discussed a resolution to amend an employment contract with Matt Jaeger, Information
Technology Services Director.
Rieva Lester discussed a resolution to repeal and replace Resolution 23-111 to consent to the transfer of
controlling interest in Mashell.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to move two consent items and four deliberation items to the
Tuesday, May 9, 2023, BOCC Business Meeting agenda. Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion
passed 3-0.
Rieva Lester and Steve Wohld noted there would be a late resolution to reappoint Josh Heinricher to the
Fair Advisory Board.
Announcements
Matt Jaeger said IT has launched 10-digit dialing for Public Works.
Eric Eisenberg said the review committee has recommended a group for the floor plan / environmental
work for the night-by-night shelter.
Lee Napier said Community Development has launched its online inspection portal.
Becky Butler said she will have a late add for software procurement.
BJ Kuykendall said the Spring Youth Fair will take place over the weekend. The commissioners requested
better signage and they asked that staff look into kiosks.
New business
Commissioner Swope said he’d like to discuss the noxious weed control assessment during the May 10
Directors’ Update.
Wednesday Workshop
Water banking: Eric Eisenberg and Commissioner Pollock discussed the county’s goals and next moves
regarding water banking. The commissioners said they would like to continue efforts to move forward
with the project.
Mountain View Cemetery and Historic Preservation grant: The commissioners said they would further
discuss mowing plans for the cemetery during the next week’s Wrap-Up meeting.
Lewis County Seniors - bingo boards and HVAC: The commissioners said they would like the Lewis
County Seniors to have a licensed, bonded contractor install the group’s bingo boards. The
commissioners said they would discuss the possibility of providing the Lewis County Seniors second-half
funding early.
Real estate: At 10:24 a.m., Commissioner Swope announced that the Board would be going into
executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(c) for 4 minutes to discuss 123 W. Main Street, Chehalis.
Executive session started at 10:24 a.m.
Executive session ended at 10:28 a.m. Commissioner Swope noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to authorize Steve Wohld or his designee to move forward with
the sale of the Masonic Building at a price no less than discussed in executive session. Commissioner
Brummer seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
