Southwest Washington Fair update: The commissioners discussed the Southwest Washington Fair. The
commissioners said they would like to forgo any future “Jump Your Junk” events.
The group discussed the monster truck event and the sanctioned rodeo.
Parks update: Steve Wohld said Sticklin is no longer interested in purchasing the Mountain View
Cemetery. He said Fir Lawn has indicated it would be interested in running the cemetery, with the
county retaining ownership, then selling it. Becky Butler said the county has more flexibility with the
project through Oct. 1.
Steve said the county’s response regarding a trespass order is due later in the day.
Meja Handlen discussed a listeria outbreak in Pierce County.
