2023-12-04 Economic Alliance UpdateEconomic Alliance Update December 4, 2023 1:30 p.m. Present: Commissioner Swope, Commissioner Brummer, Commissioner Pollock, County Manager Ryan Barrett, Richard DeBolt, Todd Chaput, Becky Butler Guest(s): Recorder: Tammy Martin Public comment: None Richard DeBolt said there was $74,000 returned to .09 Distressed Counties funds from Lewis County Public Utility District 1. Richard said the Economic Alliance sent over their year in review. Richard said the BDO Zone has been approved. Richard said there have been four inquiries into development with Economic Alliance with interest in Winlock and Chehalis. They are working with the EDA for other business development. Todd Chaput said the Economic Alliance is working for grant approval with Glusenkamp-Perez. Todd said the steering meeting will be next week and a strategic plan update. Once available, the strategic plan will be sent out to the BOCC. The strategic plan should be able to be enforced in the 2024 year. Todd said there will be a bowling tournament in Morton to encourage individual Discover Toledo, Discover Morton, Direct marketing Organization., March 1. Events: Richard said the Thurston EDC is having an Expo and the hydrogen Committee is planning a meeting in January. Todd said Mindy Brooks will be helping to develop a public private partnership and they appreciate the time Mindy is volunteering. Richard said April is the target month for his project that he is working with Commissioner Brummer. Richard said there was a Board retreat. They viewed the Centralia Downtown Association (CDA), Centralia Station and other area businesses. Meeting ended 1:48 p.m.
