Public comment: None.
Becky Butler previewed the preliminary budget for 2024. She noted that the use of reserves is at $2.9
million, a $2 million decrease from previous estimates. She said the savings are a result of cost-saving
measures the county has taken, including freezing and eliminating positions, as well as use of one-time
ARPA funding.
Eric Eisenberg joined at 2:16 p.m.
The group discussed potential cost increases for the Sheriff’s Office linked to the interlocal agreement
for 911.
Meja Handlen joined at 2:19 p.m.
Commissioner Brummer made a motion to add shelter frontage improvements to the agenda.
Commissioner Pollock seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Eric Eisenberg discussed work being done by Raindrop Properties, which is adding sidewalks to an area
the county planned to continue using as a bus stop for the homeless shelter. Eric said he will ask the
property owner to consider leaving the 15-foot area incomplete for now.
Eric left at 2:34 p.m.
The commissioners further discussed the upcoming budget hearings.
