Commissioner Pollock made a motion to add interim shelter to the agenda. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Resolutions Shawn Keyes discussed the proposed acquisition of additional right of way for Shorey Road Bank Stabilization M.P. 0.598. Lee Napier discussed the adoption of a Categorized Schedule of Fees effective January 1, 2024. Undersheriff Wes Rethwill discussed a resolution amending Resolution 08-201 to Establish the Rate of Pay for the Director of Property Management. Shawn Kyes discussed a hearing resolution to approve a non-exclusive franchise renewal to Bavarian Retreat Homeowners Association for the installation, construction, operation, and maintenance of water facilities within specific rights-of-way of unincorporated Lewis County. Commissioner Pollock made a motion to approve moving two consent items, three deliberation items and two hearings to the Nov. 28, 2023, BOCC Business Meeting. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0. Eric Eisenberg said there has been a setback with the interim shelter. There were issues with completing the paperwork by the state. This created a delay in project completion. Eric has reached out to key users of the interim shelter about the delay in the timeline. The City of Centralia will extend their month-to-month lease. Lee Napier discussed the upcoming Tour of Lights holiday decorating competition. Eric Eisenberg discussed the rural housing alternative discussion at the Olympia Master Builders’ presentation. Eric said more discussion is planned. The concern is how likely there would be truly low- cost, good quality affordable housing. BJ said Rose Park is closed for the winter. BJ said the fair received a grant in the amount of $237,500 for the 4-H barn. This will replace the roof and trusses as needed. Becky Butler said a public, informational Budget Meeting was held Nov. 21. She said final decisions will be sent to the Board for adoption of the levies on Dec. 4. Shawn Kyes said there were several bids for Centralia Alpha. Doug Carey said the parking lot project is wrapping up and should take pressure of the other lots soon. Abatement bids were received for the interim shelter. Meja Handlen said the Untied Way Auction is under way. Meja also said Drug Court is having their auction Dec. 11. Newly-hired county nurse Theresa Ramsey introduced herself. Alex Murray said most of the heating issues have been resolved. Alex said the snow crew has been established. Alex said Christmas trees are in process of being acquired for the holiday season. Daleyn Coleman said open enrollment ends Nov. 30, 2023. Announcements: None.
