Year-to-date cases: Warren McLeod said the Coroner’s Office has responded to 613 deaths year to date, including: • 4 homicides, 1 transported • 16 suicides, including 2 under age 18 • 43 accidental deaths • 39 drug-related deaths • 3 undetermined cases • 2 pending toxicology reports Accreditation Audit Report: Warren said to receive accreditation, two of each type of death is audited for accreditation purposes. Warren says the audit is required and performed every 5 years. Warren said there were four unclaimed remains interned September 28, 2023, and there are currently four unclaimed veteran remains. Warren is collaborating with Tahoma National Cemetery for internment. Warren said the current Coroner building can hold approximately 15 decedents and he does estimate a need in the future for a larger facility. Meeting ended at 11:59 a.m.
