Grace said there are still budget amendments being done and there will be a final budget transfer for those departments that need them. Grace said she is working with Public Health to finalize the 2023 year-end. She has begun to work on financial statements that will be due in May. Grace said there hasn’t been many expenditures for 2024. Grace said there was an RFP for the cost allocation plan. The three responses received ranged from $28,000-$87,000 with a range of expertise being provided. Grace would like to meet with the Internal Services Group to determine the most qualified applicant. Grace said results of the RFP would be available at the next Auditor / Treasurer Update. Larry Grove said the February special election is wrapping up. Presidential primary ballots were mail Friday, February 16. There will be security in the lobby beginning Monday and is paid for with grant funds from Washington State. Larry said he is hoping to renew the grant in July. Larry provided a handout for recording. This shows the breakdown of the fees associated with the charges. The current fee is $303. Rodney Reynolds provided the Treasurer’s Office update. Rodney said the revenue received for December of 2023 was 1.1% down compared to December 2022. Current revenue expenses will see an adjustment at the next update. Investments received a higher return than budgeted for 2023. Rodney said the Lodging tax showed an increase of 8.8% increase over the 2022 budget. Commissioner Brummer said he felt the increase is due to inflation costs and not the amount of “heads and beds”. Rodney said January’s lodging is also up compared to previous years. Rodney said sales tax received for January 2024 is 2.6% more than January 2023. Arny Davis started the Finance Committee portion of the meeting. Arny said this would normally have been in January. Rodney presented the Investment Pool Report, Direct Investments Report, Lewis County Investment Summary, Investment Detail Reports, and the Investment Policy Review for the Finance Committee portion of the meeting.
