Opioid settlement: At 2:02 p.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 2:15 p.m. to discuss the opioid litigation and settlement. Outside counsel joined the discussion remotely. • At 2:15 p.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 2:20 p.m. • At 2:20 p.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 2:22 p.m. Executive session ended at 2:22 p.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made. Becky Butler said the county will need to develop policies and procedures regarding incoming opioid settlement funds. 2023 year-end update: Becky said year-end financials look promising. She noted that sales tax dropped roughly 2 percent. American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) reporting and project review: Becky reviewed ongoing ARPA projects receiving county funding, including those for: • The Fox Theatre • The Roxy Theater • Juvenile Broadband update: Becky said the county is reviewing bid documents with NOANET and that bids will be evaluated beginning March 19. She noted that there had been no issues regarding cultural monitoring. Calendar for 2025 budget: Becky reviewed potential dates for work on the 2025 budget. Meeting ended at 2:52 p.m.
