Public comment: None.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to add homeless shelter - executive session under RCW
42.30.110(1)(i) - to the agenda. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
Shawn Kyes discussed the proposed vacation of an undeveloped right of way, being a continuation of
Beryl Road in Randle.

Doug Carey discussed a resolution to ratify signature for the East County Substation - Tenant
improvements construction contract.
Doug Carey discussed a declaration of surplus real property, 242 NW Chehalis Ave., Chehalis.
Becky Butler discussed a resolution to approve an Agreement from the Washington State Office of
Public Defense in the amount of $103,435.00 for use in the calendar year 2024.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to move one notice item, two consent items and four
deliberation items to the Tuesday, April 9, 2024, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Brummer seconded.
Motion passed 2-0.
Roundtable
Directors and others provided updates, including:
• Becky discussed upcoming budget deadlines.
• Lee Napier discussed work on Urban Growth Area interlocal agreements.
At 9:14 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into executive session
under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:19 a.m. to discuss the night-by-night shelter.
Executive session ended at 9:19 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to delay for a week action regarding the night-by-night shelter
as discussed in executive session. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
David Bailey left at 9:21 a.m.
Participants provided additional updates, including:
• Daleyn Coleman discussed efforts to streamline countywide job descriptions, recent IRS changes
and plans to relaunch the Leadership Academy.
• Matt Jaeger discussed cybersecurity.
• BJ Kuykendall discussed the upcoming Fair and noted Sorenson will return as the rodeo sponsor.
• Rieva Lester noted that the Employee Picnic will take place Thursday, Sept. 12.
