Public comment: None.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to list the bids received and the contractor selected for the Vader
Water System Improvements Project. This was held over from June 4 Business Meeting. Josh said there
will be a change order needed.
Josh Metcalf discussed an interlocal agreement between the City of Centralia and Lewis County Public
Works Department, Solid Waste division for a Residential Leaf Collection Program in the City of
Centralia.
Josh Metcalf discussed an interlocal agreement between City of Centralia and Lewis County Public
Works Department, Solid Waste Division for litter collection on exits 81 and 82.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolution to reappoint Tom Rupert and appoint Ed Morlan to the Lewis County
Solid Waste Advisory Committee
Tammy Martin discussed a resolution to reappoint Gerry Monkman and appoint Amy Besunder to the
East Lewis County Public Development Authority (ELCPDA) Board of Directors.
Mindy Brooks discussed a resolution to grant final plat approval, authorize the Chair of BOCC to sign the
final plat drawing for the Subdivision of Douglas Lane Acres - application Number LP19-00001, and direct
Community Development staff to record said final plat.
Alex Murray discussed a resolution to declare surplus personal property.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to move two consent items and seven deliberation items to the
Tuesday, June 11, 2024, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Motion passed 2-0.
Wednesday Workshop
Ryan Barrett said the monthly management meeting is June 6.
Josh Metcalf said paint striping and chip sealing are behind because of the weather.
Becky Butler said budget prep is ongoing for year-end 2025. She said employees with risk-related issues
need to fill out forms available on the intranet and need to reach out to Aimee Albright. Becky said an
indigent defense contract with Rachel Tiller will be coming before the Board via resolution.
Mindy Brooks invited the public to a June 13th seminar on new energy codes. She said the seminar will
take place in Kitchen #1 at Fort Borst Park.
Daleyn Coleman said HR has hired a new generalist and the person will start June 17.
Rocky Lyon discussed recycling events planned for June 21 and 22.
BJ Kuykendall said two events will take place at the fairgrounds over the weekend. He also said Fair staff
is preparing for the upcoming fair in August.
Matt Jaeger said IT’s Jail project is expected to be completed shortly.
Charles Edmonson said field treatment season has begun for noxious weeds.
Alex Murray said Facilities has developed a new surplus program. He encouraged departments to peruse
what’s available for use.
Tammy Martin said there will be retirement recognitions at the June 11 Business Meeting. She also
reminded attendees that the County’s newspaper of record changes to the East County Journal effective
July 1.
