Matt Jaeger discussed a resolution to list the proposals received and vendor selected for the Community
Development Conference Room Technology and Audio/Video Design and Installation. Matt proposed
using CCI Solutions
Jenn Libby-Jones discussed a resolution to Approve an Interlocal Agreement between Lewis County and
the Washington State Department of Corrections to Provide Emergency Dispatch Services.
Jenn Libby-Jones discussed a resolution to list the proposals received and contractor selected for the
Public Safety Radio Equipment and Services project.
Becky Butler discussed a resolution to establish the Lewis County Service Animal Policy.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to move two consent items and four deliberation items to the
Tuesday, June 25, 2023, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed 3-0.
Wednesday Workshop:
Josh Metcalf said paint striping has begun.
Becky Butler said 2025 budget prep has started. Becky said the call letter goes out July 22, 2024.
Preliminary rates should be available by July 12.
Mindy said a press release will go out for an August 1 moving date. Community Development will be
closed August 1.
Meja Handlen said warm weather is expected and suggested staying hydrated and using sunscreen.
BJ said the keys and maps were handed over for Mountain View Cemetery. BJ shouted out to Adna
Floral for the flowers for the Southwest Washington Fair. Commissioner Brummer thanked Parks & Rec
for their care of Mountain View Cemetery.
Daleyn Coleman welcomed Chloe Nugent to the team.
New Business: Rachel Denham and Bryan Morris explained the second phase of the Jefferson Station
project.
911 sales tax: President of Citizens for Lewis County 911 (PAC) Anthony Mixer explained the request of
2/10ths sales and use tax increase. This will provide needed upgrades for emergency services. Elizabeth
Cameron explained the sales tax increase will not affect property taxes, medicines, or gas. Carol Brock
asked the Board to place the ballot measure on the November election. Sheriff Snaza said the 2/10ths
sales and use tax increase will have a positive impact on the communities because of the services that
can be provided. The costs associated for 911 are billed to the agencies for emergency services and this
could be used in other beneficial ways by each department that is billed. Frank Corbin said outreach has
increased and there are more outreach efforts being put forward. Frank said the goal is to educate the
public as to why the sales tax increase is needed.

The East County Journal becomes LC's Newspaper of Record on July 1. The submission deadline is 4 p.m.
Fridays, and the ECJ publishes the following Wednesday. Please plan accordingly when scheduling
hearings, bids, etc.
