Josh Metcalf discussed a resolu�on to authorize the Chair of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC)
to sign a Local Agency Agreement and Federal Aid Project Prospectus with WSDOT for the Van Ornum
Crk at Bunker Crk Rd (MP 2.681) fish passage project, County Maintenance Project (CMP) 1610.
Josh Metcalf discussed a resolu�on to list the bids received and contractor selected for the Lewis County
2024 Snow Sand Proposal.
Commissioner Pollock made a mo�on to move two consent items and two delibera�on items to the
Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, BOCC Business Mee�ng agenda. Commissioner Brummer seconded. Mo�on
passed 3-0.
Announcements
The commissioners honored Ross McDowell and Erika Kat for their Fair contribu�ons.
Directors and department heads shared updates, including the following:
• Chipseal work wrapping up.
• Fuel sta�on work to start the first week in September.
• Vader Water project delayed due to procurement problems.
• Most departments met Monday deadline for preliminary budgets.
• Senior Center rehabilita�on projects have begun.
Wednesday Workshop
Administra�ve Office of the Courts grant for Small and Rural Court Security Matching Program: Susie
Palmateer and Stacey Werner discussed funding for security cameras and *****.
Water line update: Doug Carey said the county must perform test plots or use exis�ng water line
loca�ons for the fairgrounds project.
Change orders: Doug Carey reviewed change orders for the county’s jail door (roughly $5,000) and
substa�on parking (roughly $15,000) projects.
Commissioner Swope le� at 9:30 a.m.
Execu�ve session: At 9:30 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into
execu�ve session un�l 9:45 a.m. to discuss the following:
• Main Street property – under RCW 42.30.110(1)(c)
• Restorical Research / Centralia landfill – under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i)
Execu�ve session ended at 9:45 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Pollock made a mo�on to authorize David Bailey to direct outside counsel to accept the
setlement offer from Home regarding Central Shop, Centralia landfill and Mossyrock. Commissioner
Brummer seconded. Mo�on passed 2-0.
Commissioner Pollock made a mo�on to direct staff to accept the offer on 123 West Main Street.
Commissioner Brummer seconded. Mo�on passed 2-0.
