Public comment: None.
District Court Public Defense contract: Becky Butler said the county has been asked to allow an attorney
to bill for actual hours worked instead of using the unit billing spelled out in his contract as he has
applied for the Court Commissioner position and would potentially leave before cases are completed if
hired. She said the current contract provides unit billing only for closed cases, not cases left unclosed.
The commissioners said they would revisit the topic the following week.
Parks and Rec budget: Becky said Parks and Rec preliminary budget with a large deficit.
Executive session: At 9:39 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into
executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:59 a.m. to discuss the following:
• Senior Center buildings
• Meade timber trespass
• Risk / tort claim reviews
o Hackney
o Blurton
At 9:59 a.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 10:04 a.m.
At 10:04 a.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 10:07 a.m.
Executive session ended at 10:07 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made.
