Public comment: None.
Meeting rules and procedures: Rieva Lester discussed a draft of meeting rules and procedures. The
commissioners said they would like to add language requiring that public comment is germane to county
business.
Salary Commission: The commissioners directed staff to move forward with appointments for the Salary
Commission.
Budget amendment: Becky Butler discussed the upcoming budget amendment. The commissioners
directed staff to encourage the Assessor’s Office to absorb as much of its overages as possible.
Karin Phomma joined at 9:42 a.m.
Executive session: At 9:42 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into
executive session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:47 a.m. to discuss two topics: workers’ comp claim /
bond and Perry tort claim.
• At 9:47 a.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 9:50 a.m.
• At 9:50 a.m., Commissioner Brummer extended executive session until 9:52 a.m.
Executive session ended at 9:52 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to authorize staff to move forward with securing a surety bond for
a permanent pension and to authorize the chair to sign. Commissioner Swope seconded. Motion passed
3-0.
