Public comment: None.
At 9 a.m., Commissioner Brummer announced that the Board would be going into executive session
under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) until 9:30 a.m. to discuss the following topics:
• Carbon project appeal
• Centralia landfill
• DOJ investigation
• Chehalis Fire Department demand
Outside counsel David Becktold and Matt Comisky joined by phone for a portion of the discussion.
Executive session ended at 9:30 a.m. Commissioner Brummer noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to accept the Lloyd’s settlement offer on the Centralia landfill
as discussed in executive session. Motion passed 2-0.
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to authorize dismissal of the carbon project appeal as discussed
in executive session. Motion passed 2-0.
Correspondence: The commissioners discussed correspondence received regarding the animal shelter.
County Manager Ryan Barrett noted that Public Health and Social Services Director Meja Handlen is
working on a response.
